C'est un nouveau concept les live muets?!?

j'avais pas vu

Ce live enregistré au Bataclan le 11 juin 2003, il faut l'avoir, rien que pour le symbole qu'il représente bien évidemment. En effet, le fruit des ventes des 20 000 exemplaires (j'ai le numéro 4098) de ce live reviendra aux familles des victimes des attentats du 13 novembre à Paris et Saint-Denis. Beau geste de la part d'un groupe mondialement connu. Sinon d'un point de vue musical, ce live se veut être d'excellente facture, tablant outre Frantic qui faisait alors la promotion-marathon (3 concerts parisiens en une seule journée tout de même : Boule Noire, Trabendo et Bataclan) de St Anger qui venait tout juste de sortir, sur un répertoire pré-"Black Album". Quel plaisir donc de réécouter successivement The Four Horsemen (sans doute mon morceau préféré du groupe), Leper Messiah, No Remorse, Fade To Black, Ride The Lightning, Blackened, Seek And Destroy et Damage Inc devant un public chaud bouillant. Vraiment superbe et émouvant à la fois....

Celui-là, je n'avais pas pu (voulu ?) y aller car il y avait Venom en tête affiche que je supportais pas. Tout le monde nous rabattait les oreilles avec ce groupe. Mon regretté cousin Pierre y était allé et s'était barré juste avant Venom mdrrrrr....Pas grave car je les ai vus 8 mois plus tard au Breaking Sound Festival du Bourget... Présenté par Dany Terbèche, ex-rédacteur en chef d'Enfer Magazine, ce concert enregistré le 9 janvier 1984 à l'Espace Balard, l'espèce d'"usine à bestiaux" où s'entassaient les métalleux bien avant l'ouverture du Zénith, nous présente un groupe sans concessions qui délivre ses riffs incendiaires de titres principalement extraits de Kill 'em All (mon album préféré sans nul doute à cause de la présence de morceaux-cultes comme The Four Horsemen, No Remorse, Seek And Destroy, Whiplash et Motorbreath). On a le droit en avant-première à une interprétation de Ride The Lightning morceau-titre de l'album qui sortira six mois plus tard. Un bien fou, ce double live.

par contre j'adore leur version de Whisky in the jar, ainsi que leurs reprises de MOTORHEAD (avec ou sans Lemmy)

Le 20 janvier 2017, le groupe donnera son tout premier concert de la tournée “Hardwired…To Self Destruct.” à Hong Kong :

Metallica will perform their first-ever show in Hong Kong in the New Year as part of the band’s World Wired tour in support of their tenth album, “Hardwired…To Self Destruct.”

“We told you how excited we are to hit the ground running in 2017 with tour dates in Asia and we’re back today with a Metallica first – a show in Hong Kong!,” says the band. “Thirty-five years and still beyond psyched to go to new frontiers, so this promises to be a very special night as we hit the stage at the AsiaWorld-Expo on January 20, 2017.”

Tickets will go on sale October 27 at 10:00am local time through HK Ticketing (HKTicketing.com and hotline 31 288 288), K11 Select and Tom Lee Music Store.

The Hong Kong date marks the second concert in Asia in 2017, following Metallica’s opening show of the year at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, South Korea on January 11.

The group previously revealed plans for six dates in the region, with four more to be announced soon as they prepare for the November 18 release of “Hardwired…To Self Destruct.”

Metallica will open the world tour with shows in Latin America this fall starting on October 26 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Le concert démarre à la 17ème minute...

Flemming Rasmussen a donné son point de vue sur la mauvaise qualité d’enregistrement de cet album de Metallica, sorti en 1988.

L’album reste un des préférés des fans et des critiques au niveau contenu, mais il a souvent été critiqué pour sa mauvaise qualité sonore et sa production. Cela fait des années que les débats tournent autour de ce sujet. Steve Thompson qui a mixé l’album avait déjà précédemment accusé le batteur Lars Ulrich d’en être responsable. Aujourd’hui, c’est le producteur Fleming Rasmussen qui aborde une nouvelle fois le sujet dans une interview.

Rasmussen a notamment expliqué que le groupe était alors encore très meurtri par le décès récent de Cliff Burton et que cela a eu un impact sur leur son: "les ingénieurs du son Steve Thompson et Mike Barbiero ont fait un mix qu’ils estimaient bon, avec beaucoup de basse. D’ailleurs la basse du titre “…And Justice For All” est juste fantastique. Et le remplacement par Jason Newsted fonctionnait très bien aussi. Il a sans doute voulu prouver de quoi il était capable, qu’il était un cran au-dessus de Cliff, et je pense qu’il l’est."

Le producteur a ensuite ajouté que le groupe s’inquiétait perpétuellement de la basse, demandant qu’elle soit sous-mixée, à la limite de l’audible. "Pourquoi ont-ils fait ça?" ajoute Rasmussen, "c’était peut-être dû à leur deuil de Cliff, je ne sais pas, mais imaginez ma surprise quand j’ai entendu le résultat. Je me demandais vraiment ce qu’était ce bordel."

“Il y a eu beaucoup de critiques quand il est sorti, les gens trouvaient le son trop sec. Il vous arrive droit dans le visage."

Comme ils l'avaient fait pour Kill 'em All en Ride The Lightning, les Metallica vont sortir un imposant coffret pour Master Of Puppets. Date de sortie prévue, le 10 novembre 2017.

Le Worldrdwired tour fait un tel carton, que les METS ont rajouté 34 dates nord-américaines, entre septembre 2018 et mars 2019.
Mon petit doigt me dit qu' une nouvelle tournée européenne devrait se dérouler au printemps/été 2019

en février dernier Metallica est le lauréat 2018 du prestigieux Polar Music Prize en Suède.

L’annonce avait été faite le jour de la Saint-Valentin au Stockholm City Hall par Alfons Karabuda, Président du Comité du Polar Music Prize.

On apprend aujourd’hui que ce sont Ian Paice et Roger Glover de Deep Purple qui liront la citation lors de la cérémonie de remise, qui aura lieu à Stockholm le 14 juin.

La distinction elle-même sera remise lors d’un gala au Grand Hôtel, des mains de Sa Majesté King Carl XVI Gustaf de Suède.

Pendant cette soirée, et pour respecter la tradition, des groupes suédois seront invités à célébrer l’événement. Cette année, Ghost et Candlemass joueront respectivement un titre du répertoire de Metallica.

Le frontman de Refused, Dennis Lyxzén, et le batteur Mikkey Dee (ex-Motörhead et actuel Scorpions) interprèteront aussi un titre créé pour l’occasion. Le tout sera retransmis en live via la télévision suédoise TV4.

La récompense a été créée en 1989 par Stig "Stikkan" Anderson, le manager d’Abba. Parolier réputé, on lui doit aussi les textes de plusieurs de leurs hits au début de leur carrière. Le prix a été remis pour la première fois en 1992.

Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Robert Trujillo et Kirk Hammett se sont dits très honorés et reconnaissants de cette récompense. Ils apprécient que le travail accompli en 35 ans soit reconnu et entre dans l’héritage collectif.

Ils rejoignent de cette manière une liste de lauréats sur laquelle on pouvait déjà croiser Joni Mitchell, Keith Jarrett, Wayne Shorter, Elton John, Sting, Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, B.B. King, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, Max Martin et Bruce Springsteen.

Le Polar Music Prize honore chaque années deux lauréats pour “célébrer la musique sous diverses formes” et pour “briser les frontières et rassembler les musiciens des différents styles de musique”.

Côté financier, la récompense représente environ 125 000 dollars, qui seront remis au groupe

Metallica a déjà prévu de reverser cette somme à son association, All Within My Hands Foundation, qui soutient l’éducation, lutte contre la faim et vient en aide aux défavorisés.

Le WorldWired Tour de Metallica est de retour en Europe et au Royaume Uni à partir du 1er mai et jusqu'au 25 août 2019 pour une série de concerts en stades, parcs et même pour une date unique dans un château ! Ces nouveaux shows sont les premiers depuis septembre 2017, tournée lors de laquelle le groupe a pulvérisé tous les records dans 29 salles à travers le continent. Le lancement se fera le 1er mai 2019 à Lisbonne.

Malheureusement sans la scène centrale et ce show fabuleux avec les cubes lumineux, je vais donc zapper.
